The Big 12 Conference was pegged as the most wide-open conference in the nation, and through six weeks it has delivered on that notion.
Of the six games last week, half of them ended in a one-score margin and featured the Cincinnati Bearcats upsetting No. 21 Iowa State in a fantastic ballgame. If upsets aren’t your style, the Baylor Bears sneaking past Kansas State in a 35-34 game was probably up your alley. The Big 12 has featured some of the undeniably best games in the 2025 season, and it’s only getting better. Here are all of the Week 7 Big 12 Conference games ranked by intrigue.

All games are scheduled for Saturday, October 11 (unless otherwise noted), and all times are Mountain Time.
7. Oklahoma State vs. Houston

10:00 a.m., HBO Max, TNT
Coming off their first loss of the season, Houston gets the weakest Big 12 Conference team in Oklahoma State. I hate to keep harping on it, but the Cowboys have yet to play a competitive game with anyone other than the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. Houston looked shaky against Texas Tech, but the Cougars will cruise to a win in this one.
6. Cincinnati vs. UCF

After five games, I’m still not sure what to make of the UCF Knights in 2025, but I can tell you one thing: they are not meant to win games against a team of Cincinnati’s caliber. The Bearcats stunned Iowa State last week behind a 17-0 start led by quarterback Brendan Sorsby. Cincinnati’s offense hasn’t scored less than 34 points since Week 1, and the Knights have only scored that much against North Carolina and an FCS team.

5. Colorado vs. No. 21 Iowa State

1:30 p.m., ESPN
If the Big 12 Conference came out and said that this game would only be one half, this would be the game of the week. Colorado has done enough to show they’ll keep things close in the first half; maybe they’ll even jump out to another multiple-score lead. However, the Cyclones’ offense has found its stride. Despite a loss to Cincinnati, they can air it out in a way that the Buffaloes proved they can’t keep up with last week, and it could get ugly late.

6:00 p.m., ESPN2
Arizona has played its best ball at home, beating Kansas State and recently throttling Oklahoma State by 28 points last week. BYU is a very solid team, but they’ve let teams hang around in games and play down to their competition, only beating Colorado by four and West Virginia by 14. This could end up being a sneaky good game if Arizona’s offense can power through the stout Cougar defense.

3. Kansas State vs. TCU

1:30 p.m., Fox
As time was winding down in the TCU game last week, Josh Hoover went for a killshot with seconds remaining to put the Horned Frogs up by 14. They didn’t need that score to win, but it speaks to their mentality; they are playing for a Big 12 Conference title, and nobody will stand in their way. Kansas State has struggled to find any semblance of consistency, but it still has the star power to keep this game competitive.
2. No. 10 Texas Tech vs. Kansas

5:30 p.m., Fox
From their near loss to UCF last week to a three-point loss to Cincinnati, Kansas has played in some of the best games the Big 12 has to offer. If Jalon Daniels and the offense can move the ball, this will be a can’t-miss shootout. If they don’t, at least you get to watch the Big 12 favorite notch another impressive win on their resume.

8:15 p.m., ESPN
Neither of these teams can afford to lose this game if they want to maintain their Big 12 title hopes. That type of drama in Week 7 should already be enough to convince you to watch this one, but the offensive star power is overwhelming. Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson is averaging almost 100 receiving yards per game, and their quarterback, Sam Leavitt, is beginning to take that next step. Utah’s potent offense, led by quarterback Devon Dampier, has the potential to be one of the best in the nation. It’ll be a matchup for the ages, and I’m glad it’s in its own timeslot so it can get the media attention it deserves.
