The PFL on Thursday announced yet another shakeup at the top of its executive team.
Peter Murray, the promotion’s former CEO and most recently CEO of PFL International, is leaving the company. The PFL’s official statement said Murray “will be departing the organization,” but did not announce a specific date.

This past July, the PFL announced major moves at the top when it installed John Martin as its new CEO. Murray, who had been in that position since early 2018, moved to the international role – and reported to Martin.
At the time, PFL founder and chairman Donn Davis said Martin was “THE ideal CEO to lead the next chapter of growth.”
Six months later, Davis thanked Murray in a statement released on social media.
“PFL would not be here today without Pete Murray’s relentless entrepreneurship and selfless leadership,” Davis said in a news release. “He has been my trusted and valued partner building the company and I look forward to his continued support.”

To many MMA insiders, the move will not likely seem like a surprise, given the company’s shakeup six months ago, as well as regular news of leadership and fighter turnover in the past two years.

“As founding CEO of PFL, Peter played an integral role over the last eight years in the league’s growth and evolution, helping to strengthen the organization’s business operations, expand its global footprint, and establish PFL as a force in the sport of MMA. His leadership and commitment were instrumental during a period of significant development for the company.
“‘PFL would not be here today without Pete Murray’s relentless entrepreneurship and selfless leadership,’ stated Donn Davis, PFL founder and chairman. ‘He has been my trusted and valued partner building the company and I look forward to his continued support.'”‘
“Peter’s impact will remain part of the sport and PFL’s foundation as the organization continues to build toward the future.”
