Alexander Volkanovski will grace the big screen in 2026 in the live-action adaption of an iconic fighting video game.

Street Fighter, a movie adaptation of the iconic video game series is currently in production from Legendary and is set to release Oct. 16, 2026. Volkanovski will have a starring role in the film, according to a report Thursday by the Hollywood Reporter.

Actors Andrew Koji (as Ryu), Noah Centineo (as Ken Masters), and Callina Liang (as Chun-Li) serve in lead roles. The movie also stars WWE superstars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, as well as comedians Eric Andre and Andrew Schulz, and rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

Volkanovski will play “Joe,” a non-playable character from the original Street Fighter game that was described as a former kickboxing world champion from the United States. Listed as 6’1″, Joe’s signature move is the spinning back kick.

The WWE and UFC flare to this film likely has something to do with the promotion’s recent deal with Paramount, who recently struck a three-movie deal with Legendary, with Street Fighter being the first.
