Headshot, dead – again.
Fabian Edwards left jaws dropped with a vicious head kick knockout to win the 2025 PFL middleweight tournament final, similar to a highlight his brother Leon created almost exactly three years ago claim the UFC title.
Edwards (16-4) met Dalton Rosta in the main event of 2025 PFL World Tournament 10 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The tournament championship bout was scheduled for five rounds, but Edwards ended it out of nowhere at 1:28 of the third round with a vicious head kick.
The fight wasn’t all Edwards. In fact, the first two rounds were solid for Rosta (11-2), who implemented his wrestling to mitigate Edwards’ striking advantage.
However, in the third round, Rosta came out slower than he did in the previous rounds, and Edwards took advantage by mixing up his kicks to the body and the legs, while adding punches. Then, out of nowhere, the kick went high, and Rosta’s lights went out.
“That is Team Headshot, Dead,” Edwards said during his post-fight interview with Dan Hardy. “That is crazy. God’s got a funny way to work. I’m so grateful. Last year, October, I lost a championship fight to Johnny (Eblen). Less than 12 months on, I’m a PFL champ. It’s crazy.”
Edwards started off his 2025 tournament with a second-round finish of Impa Kasanganay in April. In the next round, he won a unanimous decision over Josh Silveira in June. Then, in the final, he created a highlight that will live atop his reel throughout his career by flooring Rosta in the third round to make it a three-fight winning streak.
For Rosta, his three-fight streak comes to an end. It was the first time he had been stopped in his career.
