Mercedes Moné recently won the Discovery Wrestling Women’s Championship at Rev Pro Global Wars, making it her 9th title so far. Unsurprisingly, tons of people were absolutely furious over this move and expressed their frustrations online.
A fan took to Twitter and said Mercedes never really puts over wrestlers over. They were surprised Tony Khan didn’t book Toni Storm to beat her and called Moné stuck-up. The fan also said she couldn’t make it at the top level and now just piles up belts to feed her ego, while poking fun at her, saying she doesn’t control the booking.
“Becky hogan… sure. Sasha Banks over here never putting anybody over☠️. I was shocked Tony Khan didn’t make Toni put her entitled ass over. Couldn’t cut it in thr big leagues and has to over compensate her ego with 9 titles 😂. I DoNt HaVe bOoKiNg pOwEr 🤪. Laughable.”
Another fan said she could win a thousand titles and it still wouldn’t matter, because she’ll never get the respect she’s chasing or be seen as one of the all-time greats.
“She can win 1000 belts for all I care. She won’t get what she is seeking, which is people respecting her wins and thinking she is one of the greatest women’s wrestlers of all time.”
One fan said it was just beyond ridiculous, saying, “Beyond ridiculous at this point.” To add to this, yet another fan stated that the titles are as valuable as Funko pops, saying, “They are as valuable as Funko pops right now.”
Mercedes Moné’s run as a traveling champion has fans split. Some view her as a trailblazer stacking up big achievements, while others think she’s holding back younger stars. Either way, it’s pretty much guaranteed she’ll keep adding more championships in the future.
