Fever-Aces Game 4 to feature officials from controversial Mercury-Lynx Game 3

by

The WNBA is doubling down on its officials ahead of Game 4 between the Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces.

On Friday, Sept. 26, Game 3 of the WNBA playoffs between the Phoenix Mercury and Minnesota Lynx was not without its fair share of controversy. The Mercury would end up winning the game, 84-76, but the officiating came under question on multiple occasions in crucial moments.

In fact, Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve was ejected from the game after Phoenix’s Alyssa Thomas stole a ball from the Lynx late in the game. Reeve did not like the fact that no call was made. Reeve later received a one-game suspension as well after the WNBA reviewed the footage, citing Reeve for “aggressively pursuing and verbally abusing” the referees, failing to leave the court in a timely manner after being ejected, “inappropriate” comments made to fans while exiting the court, and remarks made during her post-game press conference.

Now, that same officiating crew will be in the building for Game 4 between the Fever and Aces.
