Her second season was cut short. Clark played 13 games after dealing with several injuries that setback her season. Nevertheless, the Fever were able to make the WNBA playoffs and came out with a first-round series victory against the Atlanta Dream.

Indiana wound up losing in the second round of the WNBA playoffs to the Las Vegas Aces.

After the season concluded, White spoke on the impact of Clark. While she had high praise for Clark’s basketball prowess, White also shined a light on the Fever guards stardom off the court.

“It literally is like Taylor Swift 2.0, and because of that, her name gets thrown into a lot of conversations that have absolutely nothing to do with her, or her interests, and or our team or sport, or whatever,” White said. “And she is a 23 year-old kid who loves to play this game, who loves her teammates, who loves to compete, you know, at a high level.”

Caitlin Clark has been known as one of the most popular names in basketball for the past several years. She emerged onto the scene with the Iowa Hawkeyes at the collegiate level and has since become one of the biggest names in American sports.
