Caitlin Clark made her return on Wednesday morning after being sidelined for five straight contests with a left groin injury.
It didn’t go according to plan for Clark or for the Indiana Fever (9-10). Indiana fell on Wednesday afternoon to Golden State (10-9), 80-61, in a game that the Valkyries led by as many as 23 points.

Clark scored 10 points, had six assists and five rebounds, but the 6-foot guard shot just 4-of-12 from the field and 2-of-5 from 3-point range.
Meanwhile, after building an early nine-point lead, the Fever were clobbered from that point forward. Indiana was outrebounded, 47-36, by Golden State. The Valkyries also won the battle on the offensive glass, 11-7.
Golden State scored 12 points off 14 Fever turnovers and knocked down 12 3-pointers as compared to the Fever’s six from beyond the arc. The Valkyries finished shooting 37.1% from the field and 37.5% from 3-point range, while Indiana struggled to a 30.9% shooting day and just 22.2% as a team from beyond the arc.
