Five Classic Pumas Tries vs England

Los Pumas and England have competed against each other in international competition since 1978. The near half-century has seen 31 matches played with fixtures players both home-and away as well as at four different Rugby World Cup tournaments.

Some amazing tries have been scored over the years. Examples of five classic Pumas tries vs England are known in the following video. They include two from the 1990s, two from the 2000s and one from the 2010s.

The first was scored by former Pumas captain Lisandro Arbizu. Playing fly half for Argentina in Durban, South Africa against England at Rugby World Cup 1995, Arbizu displayed pace and stepping abilities as he got around two defenders en route to the try zone.

The second type of was also scored by Lisandro Arbizu; however, this time the Belgrano product was playing inside center. The try came from a break down the right followed by quick, recycled ball. It was a home test match played in Buenos Aires.

The third try was scored by Federico Todeschini. El Ninja scored an intercept try for Los Pumas against England at London’s Twickenham Stadium in 2006. The score was a key part of Argentina’s history-making performance in which Argentina won at the home of England Rugby for the first time.

The fourth try was scored in the northern Argentine city of Salta In his rookie season as a Puma, Gonzalo Camacho scored in the left corner. It saw Juan MartΓ­n HernΓ‘ndez combining with Horatio Agulla who broke the line from fullback. A wide pass to Camacho saw him needing to put in the after-burners to scorer.

The last of the five tries was scored in San Juan by JoaquΓ­n Tuculet in 2017. The score won the World Rugby Try of the Year Award. It came from a kick-off. After two phases, MatΓ­as Orlando broke the line and found rookie Emiliano Boffelli. He attracted defenders to give Tuculet time to link with him and rune the remaining 30 meters to score.
