Five Reasons Nebraska Will Win: Michigan

by

Three in a row! Three in a row!

The Huskers have once again opened the season with three wins and it’s only going to get better from here!

It’s time for the Big Ten season to start and the Huskers have the No. 21 Michigan Wolverines coming to Lincoln. I hope you are all hyped up because the Big Red is going to get a big win on Saturday!!

#1 THE HUSKER PASS GAME

Dylan Raiola is completing 76 percent of his passes and he is looking more and more confident and efficient every game. His smart play on the field is going to be shining against Michigan.

Raiola also has a plethora of targets. While the Michigan secondary can keep some of them covered, they can’t stop them all. Be looking for another big game for Dane Key, Jacory Barney Jr., and Nyziah Hunter.

#2 CONTAINING THE RUN

The Blackshirts will have to contain Justice Haynes who averages nearly 125 yards rushing per game and quarterback Bryce Underwood, who showed what he could do on his feet in the Wolverines’ routing of Central Michigan.

The Husker defense will need to lock down and limit big plays, about half of Haynes’ rushing yards so far this season have come off of 3 big runs. The same goes for Underwood as the defense will need to make sure he doesn’t get comfortable with the run.

#3 THE NOISE OF MEMORIAL STADIUM

The Husker faithful will be out in full force on Saturday and Memorial Stadium is going to be loud.

Michigan’s wins have both been home games this season, and 18 year old Underwood did not perform as well when they played on the road against Oklahoma. The loud Husker fans will take some time for Michigan’s offense to get used to and by that time the Husker defense will have worn them down.

#4 THE HUSKER PASS DEFENSE

While I fully expect Michigan to try to run the ball as much as they can, when they do try to take it to the air the Husker defense will be ready. Nebraska is currently the top pass defense in the country and they’ll be looking to shut down the Wolverines whenever they try to take it through the air.

#5 MICHIGAN’S HEAD COACH

This will be the second week that Michigan will be playing without their head coach, Sherronne Moore. Who is on a three game suspension for deleting text messages and “not cooperating with the investigation” into Connor Stalions sing-stealing scandal.

Clearly, last week this did not do much to effect Michigan’s play. However, in a better match up and a higher stress situation like it will be this week, I think this will be a big factor.

Here’s to 4-0!
