Last week, USC football officially signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for the 2026 cycle. With general manager Chad Bowden and head coaching Lincoln Riley leading the way, the Trojans were able to land an elite group of talent that should hopefully help the program finally elevate to the next level.
One of the top players in the class was five-star tight end Mark Bowman. Despite a late push from Lane Kiffin and LSU, USC was able to keep Bowman committed and get him to sign with the Trojans on signing day.

In a recent interview with 247Sports, Bowman discussed what ultimately led him to sign with USC.
“Today was a little hectic, but there was a hold up with some of the contract stuff,” Bowman said. “My mom really likes to look at the details with it, so that was really all it was.
“I’m glad it’s over with. I’m excited to play with these guys.
“This class is a very tight-knit group. I’m just excited to be around these guys. We’re going to go through everything together, the highs and the lows, so I’m really excited to develop and get better with the guys around me. The relationships that we have with each other are going to hold us together and take us to the top.”

According to numerous talent evaluators, Bowman is one of the top tight end recruits that we have seen in recent years. With 2025 starter Lake McRee off to the NFL Draft, he has the potential to come in and significantly contribute immediately at the position.
