Flo Robinson: Exeter scrum-half targets maiden PWR title for Chiefs

by

Exeter scrum-half Flo Robinson says she and her team-mates are aiming to win the Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) title this season.

The Chiefs were beaten by champions Gloucester last week and are aiming to return to the play-offs after missing out last season.

Exeter had been perennial post-season fixtures since their inception in 2020, making the play-offs in three of their first four seasons, including two PWR finals.

But England scrum-half Robinson hopes this season with new players such as Black Ferns prop Amy Rule, and a new head coach in Steve Salvin, can prove to be the difference.

“We’ve come close before and we’ve never quite fulfilled our potential,” she told BBC Radio Devon.

“I think this year there’ll be a lot of learning for us, we’ve had a lot of changes, lots of things have developed from last year and we’ve obviously got a new coach, new players.

“I think last year was probably our dip and that was our sort of building year where stuff didn’t go right, the second half of that season not much went right at all.

“So we can then build off the back of that, take our learnings from that, go into the season and then the aim is to win.

“You have to obviously take it one game at a time, but we would be lying if we said we just want to get top four or we just want to make sure that we compete.

“We want to enjoy it but our aim is definitely to win.”
