Florida State Seminoles now have a prime opportunity to land elite 2027 playmaker with a good head on his shoulders originally appeared on A to Z Sports.
When it comes to recruiting, you would think Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles would be doing much worse, especially considering they just had a two-win season in 2024. But their 2027 class, which could potentially add a guy like Lawrence Britt, could be strong.

Their 2026 class is currently 15th, according to on3’s rankings, which is just five spots ahead of their 2025 class. But, as we said earlier, that’s very good considering what they did on the field last season. I think some of these recruits know that last year was kind of an outlier. And, some of the 2027 recruits are showing that they also think that, as a ton of them are showing interest in the Seminoles.
One of the bigger recruits in terms of name power is 2027 WR Lawrence Britt, who has shown some interest in the Seminoles, and the team has reciprocated that back. The two sides could end up working together in the future.
But for now, it’s all about visits, but it does feel like the Seminoles have a pretty good shot to end up landing him.

Seminoles have two visits scheduled with 2027 WR Lawrence Britt
Lawrence Britt is a four-star WR in the 2027 class at Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tennessee. He’s currently about 6’2″ and 180 pounds and ranked No. 21 overall, No. 3 among wide receivers, and the top prospect in Tennessee by 247Sports. He has some good speed, size, and versatility that make him one of the top targets for a ton of college programs.

Britt has over 23 scholarship offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Nebraska, Oregon, Tennessee, USC, and Wisconsin. His first offer came from Tennessee in January 2025, and the offers certainly haven’t stopped coming in since. His recruitment is pretty hot at the moment, with some momentum favoring the Seminoles.
Right now, he has two visits set up with FSU this season. One is Week 1 against Alabama, and the other is when the Seminoles host Florida at home.
In his 2024 sophomore season, he had 25 catches for 392 yards and four touchdowns, plus 51 rushes for 485 yards and 10 touchdowns on offense, and 29 tackles with two interceptions on defense.

And to make things even better, he’s got a good head on his shoulders.
“Education is No. 1 — I’m big on that,” he said. “And the coaches need to be big on development, because I don’t want to stop at college. I want to go to the NFL and be developed as the best player and person. Life after football matters too. I want a program that teaches how to manage finances and get a job — a place that treats you like a son and gets the best out of you every day,” Britt told On3.
The Seminoles definitely need a guy like that in their 2027 class.
