Randy Pittman Jr. transferred last season from elsewhere in the state of Florida. He’ll now be entering his name in again for the second consecutive offseason, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Pittman plans to enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Pittman will end up spending one season at Florida State, where he started in all nine games that he appeared in this fall for the ‘Noles. That’s after starting his career with two seasons spent at UCF, appearing in 25 games with 11 starts for the Knights. That means, in all of his college seasons, he has played under Gus Malzahn, who was the head coach at UCF before being the offensive coordinator this year at FSU.
During his collegiate career, Pittman has posted 74 receptions for 839 yards, averaging 24.7 per game, and five touchdowns. That includes this past season in Tallahassee, where, on top of posting 23 catches 208 yards, averaging 23.1 per game, and two touchdowns as their leading tight end, he also rushed for three touchdowns and also threw for a passing score as part of the Seminoles’ offense.
A Panama City native, Pittman played his high school football at A. Crawford Mosley in Lynn Haven. He was a Top-700 overall recruit there as a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle. He also rated as a Top-40 tight end in the class, and the No. 110 overall player out of the state of Florida. That’s according to Rivals’ Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. That made him one of the top signees for Central Florida back in ’23.
Pittman is now set to be the latest departure in the portal for Florida State. That’s after another disappointing season at 5-7 for the Seminoles, which has a program that’s already usually pretty busy anyway come time for the window to open with the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Pittman has had three fairly productive seasons spent at UCF and now FSU. He’ll now be looking for a third program, though, to spend his final season of eligibility at, as he intends to have his name in the portal once this year’s one-time window opens on January 2nd.
