Former college and NFL star Mark Ingram II says he respects Notre Dame because the Fighting Irish have the influence to work out a deal that ensures the school will be in the next College Football Playoff if it finishes in the top 12.
We can’t quote Ingram directly here — the Alabama alum uses wording that is a bit too spicy for a family outlet — but, to summarize, he suggests that he respects Notre Dame for being bold enough to carve out the clause that grants it an automatic playoff bid if it finishes in the top 12.

The former New Orleans Saints and Houston Texans star said it while chatting with former Ohio State Buckeyes and Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer.
