Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra, politician and former president of the Archery Association of India has died age 93.
Professor Malhotra was the founder of the Archery Association of India, founder president of the Asian Archery Federation (now World Archery Asia), and founder president of the Commonwealth Archery Federation.
His leadership and stewardship for more than five decades laid the foundation for the growth and governance of archery in India and at the international level.
He also served as acting president of the Indian Olympic Association, where his vision, commitment, and administrative skills greatly strengthened India’s sporting framework.
Professor Malhotra was a pioneering sports administrator whose legacy extended far beyond India. His noble principles, lifelong commitment, and invaluable contributions to the global community will be long remembered.
