As the 2025 WNBA All-Star festivities begin from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Friday, former Iowa women’s basketball star and current Las Vegas Aces center Megan Gustafson paid a visit to Iowa City on Thursday to help out the Hawkeyes in their summer practices ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Gustafson, who played at Iowa from 2025-19, before being drafted by the Dallas Wings at No. 17 overall in the 2019 WNBA Draft. During her six-year professional career, Gustafson has made stops in Dallas, Washington, Phoenix, and now enters her second season with Las Vegas.

After her visit, multiple members of the Hawkeyes program expressed their gratitude, as the well-traveled Gustafson provided veteran wisdom to both experienced and younger players on the team..
During her four-year Iowa career, Gustafson scored an impressive 20.8 points per game on 65.6% from the floor, 50% from 3-point territory, and 76.8% from the free-throw line. In addition to her offensive production, she also averaged 10.8 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, 1.1 assists, and 0.5 steals through 135 games played.
On January 26, 2020, Iowa honored Gustafson’s legendary Hawkeyes career by retiring her No. 10 to the rafters of Carver-Hawkeye Arena as the then-second-ever Iowa women’s basketball player to receive such a distinction.

Since then, Iowa has raised Caitlin Clark’s No. 22 to the rafters, increasing the total of retired numbers to three.
Although she has only played three games so far this season for the Aces due to injury, Gustafson continues to serve as an excellent role model of consistency among the multiple former Hawkeyes in the WNBA.
