Another offensive coordinator candidate could be lining up for their head coaching opportunity after Kevin Patullo was removed as the Eagles‘ offensive coordinator on Tuesday.
Patullo could still remain on staff, but his time as the play caller has ended.

Philadelphia’s fifth-year head coach has far exceeded expectations, but it’s clear that high-level assistant coaches have played far more significant roles than we thought and Sirianni will likely be forced to go outside the organization and his roladex for a viable candidate.
Sirianni rightfully gets a lot of credit for the Eagles’ success, which means he’s to blame when things don’t work out, or a specific unit isn’t operating at maximum potential. In 2023, after a late-season meltdown that saw the Eagles go 1-6 in their final seven games, including the playoffs, the head coach and his assistant coaches were placed squarely on the hot seat, with Sirianni the only coach to survive. In came Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio, and a Super Bowl followed in 2024.
After another offensive meltdown in 2025, we previously listed ten offensive coordinator candidates if Kevin Patullo departs. With his departure, we’re ranking the best ten playcallers that can take Jalen Hurts to another level.
1. Todd Monken | Ravens OC

Before joining the Ravens, Monken spent three years in Athens as offensive coordinator, leading the Georgia Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships in 2021-22 and 2022-23. In his first season with the Ravens, Jackson had one of his best seasons, leading the team to an AFC-best 13-4 record. Every offense Monken has commanded since 2021 has finished in the top 10 in total offense, with his title-winning team in 2022 and his first-year Lamar Jackson ranking in the top five.

Last season, the 28-year-old Jackson set career highs in touchdown passes (41), passing yards (4,172), and quarterback rating (119.6) while throwing just four interceptions. Entering his third season as offensive coordinator, Jackson’s growth as a quarterback was expected to continue and reach another level as he enters the prime of his career. Monken and the Ravens offense cratered and regressed. Baltimore had the NFL’s second-best rushing attack and finished 16th in total offense at 332.2 yards per game.
2. Brian Daboll | Former Giants head coach
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (1) talks with New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll after a Thursday Night Football game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Oct. 9, 2025.
Daboll has coached Jalen Hurts before (Alabama), and he was able to land the Giants head coach position in 2022 after four seasons in Buffalo as the Bills’ offensive coordinator. Daboll has been credited with helping develop MVP quarterback Josh Allen, who struggled with accuracy when drafted out of Wyoming in 2018. In his third season as coordinator, in 2020, Daboll helped the Bills average 31.3 points per game, advance to the AFC Championship Game, and earn assistant coach of the year honors.

3. Klay Kubiak | 49ers OC
Klay Kubiak 49ers
Like Doyle, 49ers offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak is poised to be a hot head coaching candidate in the 2026-27 cycle. Kubiak is in his first season as a coordinator after starting as a defensive quality control coach. Then he was promoted to quarterbacks coach and offensive passing game specialist, but Kyle Shanahan calls the plays. After what Philadelphia’s defense experienced on Sunday, Kubiak should get a call.
4. Jerrod Johnson | QB coach, Houston Texans

Johnson actually interviewed for the job following the 2023 season when Brian Johnson was fired. Davis Mills was efficient and prepared during a three-game stint while C.J. Stroud was out. Before joining the Texans as their quarterbacks coach last spring, Johnson spent one year in the same role for the Minnesota Vikings.

During that one season, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins made the Pro Bowl after throwing for 4,547 yards and 29 touchdowns.
Johnson is a Texas A&M graduate and was an All-Big 12 performer with the Aggies, throwing for 8,011 yards and 67 touchdowns in his collegiate career. And he’s got a relationship with Hurts thanks to his Texas roots.
5. Davis Webb | Broncos QB coach

Another former NFL quarterback-turned-coach, Webb was ironically coached by Kliff Kingsbury at Texas Tech before spending several years in the NFL as a backup and practice squad player. Webb turned to coaching in 2023 as the quarterbacks coach on Sean Payton’s staff in Denver. Webb became Denver’s offensive passing game coordinator and QBs coach. His work with Bo Nix has made him a name to watch during the hiring cycle. Webb has already interviewed for the Ravens coaching job.

If the Eagles want to create a more balanced offense with the run game, McDaniel’s version of the Kyle Shanahan offense could be something to watch if he doesn’t land another head coaching job.
7. Zac Robinson | Former Falcons offensive coordinator

Robinson has made this list before. Another coach off the Sean McVay or Kyle Shanahan school of thought, Robinson, might be the perfect candidate, as he was the Los Angeles Rams’ passing-game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for two years before his move to Atlanta, where he helped Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts develop into an explosive offensive unit.

Kafka was once a backup quarterback for the Eagles before joining Andy Reid’s coaching staff and developing into one of the NFL’s bright young minds. After Brian Daboll was fired, he did well calling plays for Jaxson Dart, effectively using the former Ole Miss quarterback’s running skills while finding passing lanes and implementing innovative concepts despite not having Malik Nabers available.
9. Tee Martin | Ravens QB coach

As a standout quarterback and two-year starter at Tennessee (1998-99), Martin led the Vols to a 22-3 record and a victory in the first-ever BCS National Championship (1998). Martin just finished his fifth season with Baltimore and third as the quarterbacks coach, following two years (2021-22) guiding its wide receivers. He joined the Ravens after 15 seasons coaching mainly in the collegiate ranks, including at his alma mater, the University of Tennessee (2019-20), where he tutored wide receivers and served as passing game coordinator and assistant head coach.

Martin has experience calling plays and was the offensive coordinator at USC when Sam Darnold rose to prominence.
10. Nate Scheelhaase | Rams passing game coordinator

“He’ll be a head coach one day,” Sean McVay has recently said. Scheelhaase has improved significantly over the past two years with Sean McVay and could gain traction as a head-coaching candidate.
