Notre Dame football historically has multiple rivalries, and while one of them isn’t with the Florida State Seminoles, they still are ACC foes.
The playing history between the two teams started in 1981, as they’ve battled a total of twelve times since then. The Irish have won the past four dating back to 2014, but the Seminoles won the previous three. On Friday there was a but more fuel added to the intra-conference combatants, as Carson Hobbs decided to transfer to FSU according to Hayes Fawcett.

The sophomore from Ohio saw the field in two seasons for the Irish with 7 tackles and an interception this fall against Texas A&M in the opener. Hobbs had a so-so game against the Aggies, and that pushed the coaching staff to try other players and eventually he got passed over on the depth chart.
Hobbs could emerge as a player for the Seminoles, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to face Notre Dame following the move, at least in the regular season.
