Recruiting at the highest levels of big-time college sports has never been wilder. With Name, image and likeness, the ability to transfer in the portal at will, revenue sharing, and everything else, it’s never been harder and more unpredictable to sign kids to play for good ‘ole State U.

We may never know the full story behind OSU men’s basketball commit Dorian Jones, but there was clearly a change in heart — either from the Ohio State side, his, or both– but when Jones decommitted because of academic issues. Many scratched their heads and wondered how things weren’t foretold in the situation, but they also wondered where he would end up when all the dust settled.
Well, we appear to have the answer to the latter question, because on Wednesday, Jones announced his commitment to Rutgers through Joe Tipton of Rivals via social media. It wasn’t too much of a surprise because the Scarlet Knights were right in the thick of the race with Ohio State when Jones originally.
We wish Jones nothing but the best when it comes to his future in the game. We just hope he doesn’t have very much success against the Buckeyes when he plays against his former courting partner.
