Former Texas A&M football commit names Tennessee in top four schools

Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2026 football signing class.

Four-star defensive end Jordan Carter named Tennessee in his top four schools, along with Texas, Georgia Tech and Auburn, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound prospect is from Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Georgia. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 15 defensive end in the class and No. 12 player in Georgia.

Tennessee offered Carter a scholarship on June 2, 2023. He has unofficially visited the Vols three times, most recently for the Tennessee-Oklahoma football game on Nov. 1.

Carter previously committed to Texas A&M on Oct. 27, 2024. He officially visited the Aggies two times in 2025 before announcing his decommitment on Nov. 1, the same day he visited Tennessee.

Liberty was the first school to offer Carter a scholarship on May 2, 2023. Other SEC schools to offer him scholarships include Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi State.

Tennessee has 24 commitments in its 2026 football recruiting class: quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, offensive tackle  Gabriel Osenda, defensive lineman CJ Edwards, defensive lineman Zach Groves, safety KJ McClain, safety Luke Thompson, defensive end Kedric Golston II, offensive lineman Edward Baker, wide receiver Zaydyn Anderson, quarterback Legend Bey, defensive lineman Dereon Albert, linebacker TJ White, cornerback Jamyan Theodore, defensive lineman Darryl Rivers, wide receiver Javonte Smith, linebacker Brayden Rouse, safety Jowell Combay, athlete Joel Wyatt, athlete Salesi Moa, offensive tackle Kamari Blair, wide receiver Tristen Keys, defensive end Hezekiah Harris and tight end Luca Wolf.
