Four Alabama players to watch against Georgia football

by

The Alabama Crimson Tide have one of the most talented teams in the country. Alabama has 11 preseason coaches All-SEC picks and has stacked elite recruiting classes year after year.

However, Alabama’s 2025 college football season has not gone to plan. The Crimson Tide suffered a stunning loss to Florida State in Week 1 and now Alabama is 2-1 entering the Georgia Bulldogs game. Alabama is motivated not to drop to 2-2.

Alabama plays a 3-0 Georgia team that has won 33 straight home games, but none of them have come against the Crimson Tide. Alabama defeated Georgia 41-34 last season in one of the best games of the season.

“We’ve got to control the line of scrimmage, stop the run, affect the quarterback, and cover their people,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said ahead of the Alabama game. “If you don’t do that, then they’re going to score. They’ve got good players.”

Who are Alabama’s best players? We look at four Crimson Tide players that Georgia fans should fear entering Saturday night.

Wide receiver Germie Bernard

It is pick your poison with this Alabama wide receiver core. Ryan Williams gets a lot of recognition and rightfully so, but the Crimson Tide have another elite receiver in Germie Bernard. As Alabama’s leading receiver (15 receptions for 275 yards and three touchdowns), Bernard has already raised his NFL draft stock.

“Germie Bernard has been the best thing about Alabama football so far this year,” said NFL draft expert Matt Miller via social media. “Scouts had him with a fringe Round 1-2 grade over the summer. To me, he’s in the WR1 conversation with Jordyn Tyson right now.”

Wide receiver Ryan Williams

Georgia fans don’t need to be reminded about Ryan Williams. He shredded the Dawgs for six receptions and a career-best 177 receiving yards and one touchdown last season. Williams has been inconsistent at times, but is a first-team All-SEC talent and is coming off a strong performance against Wisconsin.

Williams’ body control and explosiveness will present problems for the Georgia secondary. The Bulldogs have their hands full trying to guard Williams and Bernard especially after allowing 371 passing yards and four passing touchdowns against Tennessee. Tennessee receiver Chris Brazzell, a similar talent to Williams and Bernard, torched the UGA secondary for six receptions, 177 receiving yards and three touchdowns before Georgia’s bye week.

Offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor

Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor is a first-team All-SEC pick and is projected as a first-round 2026 NFL draft pick. That doesn’t mean that Proctor has been elite this season. He struggled at times against Florida State.

Alabama’s offensive line will be playing in a difficult environment, but Georgia does not have the most intimidating defensive front. Proctor and Alabama will try to establish the run to avoid obvious passing situations on the road. Alabama managed just 87 rushing yards in their loss at Florida State and Georgia will use a similar defensive formula to try to beat the Crimson Tide.

Defensive lineman LT Overton

We could also put Alabama defensive tackle Tim Keenan, who is supposed to return from injury against Georgia. However, Overton projects to play for more snaps and has more potential to be disruptive as a pass rusher.

Overton is former five-star recruit from Milton, Georgia. He has elite size and has recorded six tackles and a sack this season. Overton is a second-team All-SEC pick that will be motivated to play well in his home state.
