Four-star Georgia decommit signs with SEC rival

by

A Georgia Bulldogs decommit was recently released from his contract, and now he’s with an SEC rival. 2026 four-star wide receiver Brady Marchese committed to the Auburn Tigers, according to Rivals.

It concludes a bizarre recruitment journey for the four-star from 2026. He originally committed to Georgia in March 2025, even shutting down his recruitment after the Michigan Wolverines pursued him over the summer. A few days later, Marchese flipped from Georgia to Michigan on Dec. 4, 2025, the first day of early signing period.

However, on Dec. 26, 2025, he requested to be released from his contract with Michigan, potentially due to the Wolverines firing Sherrone Moore and hiring former Utah Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham as their head coach.

Now, Marchese ends up with the Auburn Tigers, who also flipped four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle from Georgia to Auburn. Georgia and Auburn play each other on Oct. 17, 2026, continuing the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.

Marchese was a four-star recruit from the class of 2026. The 6-foot-1, 183-pound wide receiver plays high school football for Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia.
