Rickie Fowler, despite somewhat worse performances over the years, is still a face that attracts attention. An experienced golfer often reacts to the statements of famous golfers, including this time.
After the last Major victory, Scottie Scheffler surprised the public with the statement that victories do not bring great fulfillment, but short-term joy.
Golf fans feel that Scottie's statements are ungrateful, and carry a touch of disrespect towards golf fans and important figures in the sport.
Rickie Fowler had an interesting reaction in the press conference, in a way agreeing with Scheffler.
The American golfer believes that victories are very important and bring a dose of happiness, but he also reminds that soon after a victory, challenges follow that can be exhausting.
“Yeah, you can ride the wave a bit whether it’s a win or a good finish. I feel like there’s — if you’re just taking or measuring success off winning, other than where Scottie’s been the last few years, you’re going to be disappointed quite often. Yeah, there’s a lot of times where you’re having to look at the glass half full out here, especially in times where you’re maybe struggling and might just be a solid weekend or top-20, top-10. So yeah, the wins, a lot of times you don’t really get either much time or time to necessarily celebrate, you might be playing the following week, but there are times to look back and reflect."- he said as quoted by The Golfing Gazette.

Fowler shares his views
Being a professional golfer means that you have new challenges from week to week, without much time to analyze your successes or celebrate them. To be at the top is certainly the dream of every golfer, but it seems that when individuals reach that stage of their career, victories have less and less meaning. Is it saturation, a habit or a problem of another nature?
It seems that a lot of factors are at play, especially those mentioned by Scheffler and Fowler.
Rickie is a person who primarily wants to enjoy golf, and positive results are free.
“It’s the good memories. But as far as the actual moment, yeah, like Scottie said, it’s pretty brief and quick. It’s like life doesn’t stop, it keeps going. But there is something to like what some of the other guys have said is you can kind of build off that or ride the wave of just quality golf in general. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a win.“- he concluded.
