Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor underwent a procedure on his right elbow after the end of the 2025 season, the team announced Wednesday.
Lindor is expected to be ready for the start of Spring Training.
The 31-year-old played in all but two games for the Mets this season, leading the NL with 644 at-bats. His two-day absence from the starting lineup occurred at the beginning of June, when he broke his right pinky toe after being hit on the foot by a slider from the Dodgers’ Tony Gonsolin. Even then, Lindor avoided the injured list.
Lindor has developed a reputation for playing through pain throughout his time in Queens. In 2022, he missed only one game after fracturing his right middle finger when accidentally slamming it in a hotel door. A year later, Lindor played the entire season with a bone spur in his right elbow, which began causing discomfort the first week of Spring Training.
Perhaps most famously, Lindor battled lower back discomfort down the stretch in 2024, returning from about two weeks on the shelf to carry the Mets to within two games of the NL pennant.
