Kentucky basketball played its final of two exhibition games last night when it played host to the Georgetown Hoyas at Rupp Arena.
Down a couple of their starting guards, head coach Mark Pope and his Wildcats fell to Georgetown (84-70) in what was a defensive collapse and a mess on the offensive end of the court.

Kentucky turned it over on more than 20% of its possessions (15 total for the game) and had only 14 assists in the loss.
They desperately missed both Jaland Lowe as well as Denzel Aberdeen in the backcourt, and their long-distance shooting went completely cold in the second half (0-13 from behind the arc), which led to their defeat.
Defensive intensity seemed to be an issue last night, and the Wildcats certainly had their struggles creating quality shots on offense.
Otega Oweh had 17 points but required 12 shot attempts to get there, while Jasper Johnson went just 3-10 (7 points) and Collin Chandler went 2-9 (11 points).

After their beatdown of No. 1 Purdue last Friday, Thursday night’s result was rather surprising to Big Blue Nation.
Pope and his team have a few days to regroup before they officially begin their season with a home matchup against Nicholls on Tuesday at 7 PM ET in Rupp Arena.
