It started so well for Friendship Christian’s girls Tuesday night before it ended badly in a 44-26 loss to visiting Westmoreland at the Bay Family Sportsplex.
The Lady Commanders scored the game’s first eight points, led 11-4 at the first-quarter break and 17-8 during the second quarter.

But Westmoreland reeled off the next 24 points and a 36-1 run which didn’t end until the fourth quarter as the Lady Commanders broke down in the halfcourt game. Braelyn Walker’s second 3-pointer of the second quarter, from the corner 21 seconds before halftime, accounted for the game’s only lead change as the Lady Eagles went in front 18-17 by intermission.
Gintre Freeman led the Lady Eagles with 12 points, nine in the third quarter and 11 after halftime, as Westmoreland improved to 4-1.
Annika Lankford led the Lady Commanders with nine points off the bench while Natalie Major scored six in the first half. Kaitlyn Danilaitis hit a banked 3-pointer in the final seconds while Anna Kate Reed threw in three free throws. Norah Box and Maggie Reed each tossed in two points and Haivyn Boone a free throw as Friendship fell to 3-2 going into last night’s trip to Clay County.
Balanced Lady Bears roll past OvertonNASHVILLE — Four Lady Bears scored in double figures Tuesday night as Mt. Juliet rolled past host John Overton 71-41.

McClaine Ringenberg racked up three 3-pointers in leading the Lady Bears with 17 points. Claire Emery finished with 14 points and Aaliyah Holman 12 as each hit a pair of triples while Makayla Hopson had 11. Sophie McGresham scored seven points, Addy Osborne four, Ava Grisham a 3 and Ryleigh Clayton two.
The Lady Bears led 19-8 at the first-quarter break and 30-17 at halftime.
Briley Anderson led the Lady Bobcats with 12 points while Alyssa Williams scored 10, including a pair of 3s.
Tolbert, Parker lead Lady Hawks past Brentwood
BRENTWOOD — K.T. Tolbert and McKinlee Parker each poured in 23 points Tuesday night as the personally outscored Brentwood in Green Hill’s 54-45 win over the Lady Bruins.

Parker poured in two 3-pointers and sank 7 of 8 free throws while Tolbert did her damage inside and was 7-of-12 from the line.
The Lady Hawks led 11-8 at the first-quarter break, 27-17 at halftime and 43-27 going into the fourth.
Willa Heilmann had five points and McKenna Solomon a 3 to round out Green Hill’s scoring.
Bella Foss’ 11 points led the Lady Bruins.
