FSU basketball gets outshot by Illinois that lead to a blow-out loss

Florida State women’s basketball remains on the losing end after falling to Illinois, 86-63, on Sunday at the Donald L. Tucker Center. This will be FSU’s third straight loss of the season, dropping to 3-4 on the season.

After the Seminoles were only down, 24-22, in the first quarter, the Fightest Illini dominated the next quarter, 20-10, to get a comfortable 42-34 lead at the half. FSU was outscored 25-14 in the fourth quarter, which sealed the game.

Illinois shot 50 percent from the field and 53 percent from 3s. FSU shot 35 percent from the field and 28 percent from behind the arc.

Junior guard Sole Williams was the lone scoring leader who finished in double figures with 18 points, including four three-pointers. Sydney Bowles and Pania Davis each had nine points.

The Seminoles will head to Fort Myers to take on Missouri State in the GEICO Coconut Hoops tournament on Friday, Nov. 28. Then, they will play either Coppin State or No. 8 Oklahoma on Sunday, Nov. 30.
