Florida State men’s basketball (1-0) is off to a hot start after blowing out Alcorn State on Tuesday during its season opener. FSU now returns to the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center to capture its second win on the season when it takes Alabama State on Friday.
FSU put on a show in its 108-76 victory over Alcorn State. Leading the way was Chauncey Wiggins, a Clemson transfer, who dropped 22 points against the Braves. However, senior guard Robert McCray V was a star on the court. He recorded a double-double with 12 points and 17 assists, which is an FSU record. Six different players reached double figures in their FSU debut.

Moving on to its next opponent, the Seminoles will take on an Alabama State team that was SWAC champs last season, which made the team an automatic qualifier in last year’s NCAA tournament. This will be the Hornets’ season opener and the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
