Coming off a first ACC and road win of the season, Florida State men’s basketball faces a challenging road trip to SMU, both on and off the court.
Due to a sweeping winter storm that is set to blanket almost half the country with over a foot of snow, ice, and sleet, the Seminoles have moved their travel up a day to arrive in Dallas before the storm. Initially set to leave on Friday, FSU will depart from Tallahassee on Thursday evening.

Dallas is expected to accumulate up to three inches of snow and ice by Sunday, according to Accuweather. While the Seminoles and Mustangs are still scheduled for a 4 p.m. tip, multiple ACC games have had a change in schedule.
The conference moved multiple games in states expected to have severe weather to help accommodate travel. They are listed below.

Wake Forest at Duke – moves from 5:45 p.m. to Noon

North Carolina at Virginia – moves from 2 p.m. to Noon

Virginia Tech at Louisville – moves from 3:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
While most of the country will be impacted, recent forecasts have kept the Big Bend out of the winter storm’s path.
The Seminoles are coming off a stunning road win over Miami, with a pair of late Robert McCray V freethrows giving them a 65-63 win in Coral Gables. It was the first Power 4, ACC and road win of Luke Loucks’ coaching career with FSU.

They travel to SMU, which recently beat Wake Forest, and is 11-1 at home this season. Mustangs head Andy Enfield spent five years with FSU, and he was an assistant coach during Loucks’ playing career.
