Olympic gold medalist and two-time NCAA Division I Heavyweight champion Gable Steveson has his next fight booked, but it won’t be in mixed martial arts (MMA).
Instead, Steveson will take his talents to Dirty Boxing (DBX) and square off against former Bellator fighter Billy Swanson (4-3) in the main event of DBX 4, scheduled for Thurs., Oct. 30, 2025, inside The Pinnacle in Nashville, Tenn.
Steveson (1-0) is fresh off his professional MMA debut, where he steamrolled Braden Peterson in one round at LFA 217 (watch highlights). Afterward, the Olympian teased a return to the cage, but clearly plans shifted. In addition to MMA, Steveson has been in the spotlight for abruptly withdrawing from the CJI 2 Super Fight main event against Craig Jones just days before the show, forcing Chael Sonnen to step in on short notice.
Swanson, meanwhile, brings experience but a rough recent track record. After a 4-1 start on the regional scene, “Big Sexy” got his Bellator shot against Marcelo Golm, only to be stopped in the first round. He later appeared on the PFL Challenger Series, where Giacomo Lemos finished him as well. Swanson then dabbled in Muay Thai and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), suffering stoppages in both outings.
So far, no other fights have been announced for DBX 4, but the card will also feature the promotion’s first-ever meet & greet with part-owner Jon Jones ahead of fight night.
Fans who attend are encouraged to bring a duck.
