The Georgia Bulldogs have been named as a school in contention for elite transfer wide receiver Iverson Hooks. Hooks is a senior and has announced his plans to transfer. He has one year of eligibility left. He earned second-team all-conference honors in the American Athletic Conference for his strong 2025 season.
Hooks posted 72 receptions for 927 yards and seven touchdowns with the UAB Blazers in 2025. He led UAB in all three major receiving categories and is a coveted prospect in the transfer portal.

On3’s Pete Nakos reports (subscription required) that Georgia along with LSU, Florida, Arkansas, Florida State, Auburn and more are among the schools to watch for the UAB transfer receiver. Georgia and coach Kirby Smart are expected to add a receiver via the transfer portal, which opens the day after Georgia plays in the Sugar Bowl.

Georgia does not tend to rely much on the transfer portal, but the Bulldogs do utilize it to solidify depth and add a few key pieces. UGA has added multiple transfer receivers in three consecutive offseasons and we could see that streak continue with the Bulldogs expected to lose seniors Noah Thomas, Colbie Young, Dillon Bell and Cole Speer to the 2026 NFL draft. Georgia also is projected to lose junior Zachariah Branch to the draft, but Branch still has eligibility left.
