Ridge Holland’s WWE run is officially over—but his fight is far from finished.
The former WWE Superstar, real name Luke Menzies, has been dealing with serious medical and financial issues since suffering a foot injury during a TNA appearance in September. WWE initially promised to cover the cost of his rehab but made it clear his salary would stop once his contract expired on November 14. After Holland publicly vented his frustration over being unpaid and unsupported, WWE terminated his deal a week early—effectively cutting ties while he’s still medically unfit to return to work.
Now, a GoFundMe has been launched to help Holland, his wife, and their three children make it through what’s become an incredibly difficult time. The fundraiser, organized by Susan Chapman of Saint Cloud, Florida, aims to raise $60,000 to keep the family afloat while Holland undergoes surgery and lengthy recovery. The GoFundMe tells the story bluntly:
“A hardworking husband. A devoted wife. Three beautiful children. And a devastating injury that threatens to take it all away.”
It describes Holland as a 1099 contractor, making him ineligible for workers’ compensation, paid leave, or post-release financial support from WWE. The post goes on to explain that the family already endured a 55% pay cut when Holland re-signed in 2024 and are now at risk of losing their home.
“They are at risk of losing their home. Of falling into debt they may never escape. Of having their kids face a holiday season filled with fear and uncertainty rather than joy.”
The campaign’s mission is to cover essentials like mortgage payments, hospital travel costs, food, and everyday bills. Holland may need a neck fusion surgery as early as this month, and a second surgery is already scheduled for March. Recovery is expected to keep him out of work until at least April or May—if all goes well.
Chelsea Green shared the GoFundMe on social media and committed to donating $1,000 a month, hoping to rally support from the wrestling world and beyond. The message behind the campaign is clear: this is a family in need of a lifeline. Holland’s post this week made his position plain.
“I never thought I’d not be able to pay my mortgage. I feel like I’ve just been hung out to dry after getting injured working for another company on behalf of WWE.”
WWE’s decision to release him early reportedly stemmed from that statement, which the company viewed as a breach of contract.
Holland, a former rugby player, signed with WWE in 2018 and worked across NXT UK, NXT, the main roster, and Evolve. His journey now takes a painful turn—but he’s not alone. Fans, friends, and fellow talent are already stepping in to help.
