Goshen has not had a winning season since 2016, and the RedHawks (IHSAA Class 5A) have not won a sectional championship since 2000. The next head coach will be the program’s fourth of the past 10 years and 10th of the century.
Hecklinski’s resignation marks the ninth of the South Bend Tribune coverage area’s 27 teams this offseason. LaVille, Mishawaka Marian, Northridge and Plymouth have filled its roles, while Buchanan (Mich.), Dowagiac (Mich.), Goshen, John Glenn, and Michigan City are all still searching.
