Grace Christian Academy guard and Nya Burns has committed to UAB women’s basketball for the 2026 recruiting class.
The 5-foot-7 Burns made the announcement on social media on Aug. 2.
“A huge thank you to the UAB coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this amazing opportunity,” Burns wrote on X. “I’m so excited for this next chapter.”

Burns was named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Division II-A all-state team for the 2024-25 season. She averaged 16 points, three assists and two steals per game. CAK finished 21-13.
Burns played at Gatlinburg-Pittman during the 2023-24 season before joining CAK.
