Haris Rauf on Fire! 3 quick wickets shake Perth Scorchersโ top order
Meanwhile, Haris Rauf was on fire against the Perth Scorchers and completely rattled their top order with raw pace and bounce at the Perth Stadium. In the third over, the Pakistani pacer dismissed the Australian captain Mitchell Marsh with a fast delivery that climbed awkwardly.
Marsh went for a big shot, but the ball went straight up in the air. Glenn Maxwell stayed calm and took a simple catch to send Marsh back to the dugout for just 12 runs off 8 balls. Then he delivered another breakthrough for the Melbourne Stars in the same over.
Rauf bowled a short and wide ball to the number three batter, Cooper Connolly, who tried to hit it hard. Connolly mistimed the shot, and the ball went straight to Hilton Cartwright, and he didnโt make any mistake with the Scorchers batter dismissing for two.

The star fast bowler was not done yet. He bowled another sharp delivery to Josh Inglis. The extra bounce surprised the batter, and the ball flew into the air. Wicketkeeper Sam Harper ran across and took the brilliant catch as Inglis was dismissed for one off nine balls.
Finn Allen and Aaron Hardie rescue Scorchers at home
Rauf put the Perth Scorchers under huge pressure during his spell, but Finn Allen played some brilliant cricket to bring the side back into the BBL 2025-26 clash. Allen found great support in Aaron Hardie (41*) as the duo added 94 runs for the fourth wicket to snatch the match from the Stars.
Allen went on to play a stunning knock of 69 runs off 39 balls to play a key role in the Scorchers chasing the paltry target of 131 runs with extreme ease as the Melbourne Stars were crushed by six wickets in the BBL 2025-26 clash in Perth on Saturday.
Apart from Rauf, no Melbourne Stars bowlers stepped up when needed the most, and they paid the price but luckily qualified for the Big Bash League 2025-26 playoffs along with the Scorchers.
