During the Grand Slam king’s recent practice session, he appears to receive treatment for a troublesome thigh injury in this video taken by social media site Novak Analysis:

Former world No. 1 Djokovic has not played a match since his 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 loss to Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon semifinals last month. Djokovic, who appeared hampered by injury, tried shortening points in that defeat.

The 38-year-old Serbian superstar withdraw from the Candian Masters and Cincinnati Open as well.

Djokovic is scheduled to partner compatriot Olga Danilovic against Russian’s Daniil Medvedev and Mirra Andreeva in opening round play of the newly reimagined US Open mixed doubles. Medvedev denied Djokovic the calendar Grand Slam with his 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory in the 2021 US Open final.

Two years later, Djokovic stopped Medvedev in straight sets to capture his fourth US Open championship.

Djokovic, who won his 100th career championship in Geneva earlier this year, carries a 26-9 record into New York as he continues his quest for a record-extending 25th Grand Slam championship.
