I Actually Have Two Versions of This Speech – Hurricanes Captain Elyse Villani
Hurricanes captain Elyse Villani admitted that she had prepared two different speeches for the big night. Villani added a lighthearted request not to judge her for planning ahead, saying the moment was too significant for the team to leave anything to chance.
“Before I sound like a flog, I actually have two versions of this speech, but I was hoping that I’d only have to read this one out, and I just thought it was best to be prepared as it’s our first final and it’s a huge occasion for our organisation no matter what happens tonight. So I’m glad I’m reading this one, but please don’t think ill of me.”
