The College Football Playoffs ended on an exciting note as the Indiana Hoosiers knocked off the Miami Hurricanes to win their first-ever title. Now that the season has concluded, coaches from across the sport have submitted their final ballots for the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Newly named Auburn head coach Alex Golesh is one of the many coaches from across the nation to participate in the weekly poll. Golesh included seven SEC teams in his final submission, all within the top-13. Outside of putting Indiana and Miami at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, Golesh placed Ole Miss at No. 4, Georgia at No. 5, Texas A&M at No. 8, Oklahoma at No. 9, Texas at No. 11, Vanderbilt at No. 12, and Alabama at No. 13.

It is interesting to see Golesh give his new conference some respect in the polls, as every SEC team he included ranks near the top. He rightfully ranked Ole Miss the highest, as the Rebels were the lone SEC representative to make it to the CFP semifinals. Texas A&M and Oklahoma, two more teams that represented the conference in the CFP, followed suit, while Texas and Vanderbilt are just outside of the top 10.
A decision that Auburn fans can appreciate is that Golesh ranked Alabama No. 13 despite getting a CFP nod over Texas and Vanderbilt. Maybe he is warming up to the rivalry quicker than we thought?
