How former Oregon Ducks performed in Week 1 of the 2025 college football season

by

The Oregon Ducks have been a hub for talented recruits in the Dan Lanning era, reeling in some of the top recruiting classes in the country over the past few years. What that results in — especially with the Ducks also bringing in top transfer portal classes — is overcrowding in certain position rooms. There’s only one ball on the field and a limited amount of rotations that can be made during a game to keep everyone happy.

Oftentimes, if a player isn’t happy in the NIL and transfer portal era of college football, they depart via the portal. Nothing wrong about it; sometimes, a player needs a change of scenery to reach their full potential.

This season, there’s at least 10 players performing in impact roles for programs across the country who were, at some point in their career, in the Oregon program.

In this piece, we highlighted former Ducks who had an impact in Week 1 with their respective program, beginning with a high-profile quarterback recruit who put on a show in nearby Corvallis against Oregon State.
