Even though we’re more than five months out until the 2025-26 women’s college basketball season, you can still see some of the brightest stars from Iowa and Iowa State compete this summer as part of the 2025 USA Women’s AmeriCup Team.
Iowa’s Hannah Stuelke and Iowa State‘s Audi Crooks were recently named to the USA Women’s roster for the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, held in Santiago, Chile. The team consists of 12 of the nation’s best college players, including Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo, Texas forward Madison Booker and LSU guard Flau’jae Johnson.

The tournament began on June 28, and the U.S. has already defeated its first two competitors, Chile (108-47) and Colombia (80-43).
There are several more games until the championship, and Iowa and ISU fans can watch Stuelke and Crooks play online.
What is the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup?
The women’s AmeriCup is a basketball tournament for national teams encompassing North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America, according to FIBA. The competition is held every two years and organized by FIBA’s Regional Office in the Americas.
There are also AmeriCup tournaments for men’s basketball and tournaments for various age groups.

The winner of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup will earn a berth to the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Berlin, Germany, next summer.

USA Basketball next plays Puerto Rico on Monday, June 30 at 7:10 p.m. CT and faces Mexico on Wednesday, July 2 at 1:10 p.m. CT.

Stuelke was a second-team All-Big Ten selection last season and scored 400+ points for the second straight year. Stuelke averaged 12.7 points and 7.7 rebounds across 32 games during the 2024-25 season. She will be a senior for the Hawkeyes in the fall.
