Hannah Hidalgo will be playing for an extra present in what she hopes is a victory when Notre Dame women’s basketball (17-9, 9-6 ACC) travels to Dallas for an ACC Network game against Southern Methodist (9-18, 2-13 ACC) at 6 p.m. ET Sunday, Feb. 22 − Hidalgo’s 21st birthday.
The Irish beat Clemson 74-47 in South Bend on Hidalgo’s 19th birthday. Last season’s contest against the Mustangs was these two sides’ first meeting, with Notre Dame emerging victorious 88-64.

Now set for annual games as part of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) schedule, the Irish and SMU have very different season outlooks. Heading into this one, Notre Dame has won two in a row and four of its last five while the Mustangs have lost seven of their last eight.
