Despite an 18-point performance by Marina Mabrey, the Connecticut Sun (5-23) fell to the Phoenix Mercury (18-11) by a score of 82-66 Aug. 5.

Sun center and UConn alum Tina Charles also turned in a solid performance in the game Aug. 5, scoring 16 points. 2024 first round draft pick Leïla Lacan scored 10 points in that contest for the Sun.

Now the Sun turn their attention to their next opponent: the Los Angeles Sparks (13-15). The Sparks won their first two games against the Sun this year by scores of 92-88 and 101-86.
