How to watch two title fights at MSG, lineup, odds, more

The UFC makes its annual fall trip to the Big Apple this week, and there are a pair of title superfights at the top of the marquee.

Here’s how to watch UFC 322, where the welterweight and women’s flyweight titles are on the line against ex-champ challengers moving up a weight class.

Broadcast and streaming info

UFC 322 has a main card that airs on pay-per-view via ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET. The prelims air on ESPNews, FX and Disney+ at 8 p.m. ET. Early prelims stream on ESPN+ at 6 p.m. ET.

UFC correspondent Megan Olivi will serve as correspondent to conduct pre and post-fight interviews backstage with some of the athletes on the UFC 322 card, as well as report additional real-time updates for the event.

Jon Anik will serve as the leading man on the mic from cageside at UFC 322. He will command play-by-play alongside color commentators, former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier and Joe Rogan.

Opponent: Islam Makhachev (27-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC)
Division: Welterweight
Key wins: Belal Muhammad, Gilbert Burns, Kevin Holland, Randy Brown
Misc.: The 29-year-old Australian won the title in May with a dominant decision win over Muhammad, who was making his first attempted title defense. He gets no easy task for his own first defense, though, against the fighter deemed the second coming of Khabib Nurmagomedov. Although Maddalena is the champ, the challenger is roughly a 3-1 betting favorite to capture a title in a second division.

Opponent: Jack Della Maddalena (18-2 MMA, 8-0 UFC)
Division: Welterweight
Key wins: Renato Moicano, Dustin Poitier, Alexander Volkanovski (twice), Charles Oliveira, Dan Hooker
Misc.: Makhachev defended the lightweight title four straight times and now has decided to take a stab at the welterweight belt. He brings a 15-fight winning streak to the matchup and is a 3-1 favorite to become the latest two-division UFC champion.

Co-main event: Valentina Shevchenko

Record: 25-4-1 MMA, 14-3-1 UFC
Opponent: Zhang Weili (26-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC)
Division: Women’s flyweight
Key wins: Manon Fiorot, Alexa Grasso, Taila Santos, Jessica Andrade, Liz Carmouche, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Julianna Peña, Holly Holm
Misc.: After her stunning submission loss to Grasso in early 2023 and a subsequent draw in a rematch, Shevchenko won the title back 14 months ago. In May, she continued her lengthy run of dominance at 125 pounds against Fiorot. Now she gets a big test in another pound-for-pound great in Weili, who is moving up to chase a second belt.

Co-main event: Zhang Weili

Opponent: Valentina Shevchenko (25-4-1 MMA, 14-3-1 UFC)
Division: Women’s flyweight
Key wins: Tatiana Suarez, Yan Xiaonan, Amanda Lemos, Carla Esparza, Joanna Jedrzejczyk (twice), Jessica Andrade
Misc.: Her strawweight dominance eventually got to Weili, so she’s moving up to 125 for a new challenge – and right into a title fight. Rhose Namajunas remains her UFC Kryptonite with back-to-back losses in 2021, but she’s been a force against everyone else. How she’ll fare up 10 pounds is the biggest question.
