With 20 wins via knockout, Gaethje can strike at any moment. He looks to prove his experience will make a difference in this fight.

“I know this kid’s going to be trying to kill me, and I know he’s going to make mistakes,” Gaethje said on the Paramount UFC Crew YouTube page via MMA Weekly.

“So, I have to be ready to take advantage of these mistakes and fight a perfect fight at the highest level. It’s who makes mistakes first, and I’m going to need to teach him that.”

Pimblett (23-3) is a former Cage Warriors featherweight champion. “The Baddy,” ranked fifth at lightweight, is on a nine-fight win streak, beating Michael Chandler in April.

Competing in his biggest fight to date, the confident Pimblett is ready to outstrike the ultimate striker.

“I’ll keep it on the feet with him,” Pimblett said via MMA Fighting. “There’s the blueprint there to beat him, Max done it. Everyone underestimates my striking. Everyone thinks I’m just going to going to come in and I’m going to take him down and I’m not. He had an absolute war with [Michael] Chandler, and I pieced Chandler up.

“So, I know MMA math doesn’t work, but you’ll see come Jan. 24, when we have a perfect game plan, and we finish him within three.”
