The North Carolina Tar Heels are off to a hot start this season, opening up 8-1 as they wrap up non-conference play in December. This entire offseason was shaped around rebuilding this roster and getting back to the Carolina-style that we have been used to.
So far, through nine games, one college basketball analyst believes this is a ‘vintage’ North Carolina team.

Jon Rothstein praised the Tar Heels and why they look like vintage North Carolina.
“One of the main questions coming into this season, when looking at ACC storylines, was whether or not Hubert Davis would reiterate that North Carolina could still be North Carolina with him as head coach. He’s passing that test with flying colors,” Rothstein said.
He went on to say that the Tar Heels are doing this without Seth Trimble and that the combination of Henri Veesaar and Caleb Wilson is paving the way. Rothstein praised Derek Dixon as well and had really positive things to say about UNC as a whole.
The Tar Heels are going to be tested come Atlantic Coast Conference time as the conference looks a lot better than it did last year. But we shouldn’t be surprised if UNC is one of the top programs in the conference throughout the season.
