Hunter Armstrong Discusses Future on Lane One: Making Waves Podcast with Summer Finke
Over the past few months, Summer Finke has conducted interviews on her podcast, Lane One: Making Waves, with several big names in the sport. Dara Torres. Nancy Hogshead. Mark Bernardino. They have all appeared on the podcast, which has also seen Finke focus on topics such as resilience and mental health.
In the latest episode, Finke sat down with Hunter Armstrong, the American backstroke ace, for an in-depth discussion. During the hour-long interview, Finke and Armstrong touch on topics such as Armstrong’s emergence at the national level and qualification for the Olympic Games. They also discuss the sponsorship struggles Armstrong has experienced, and how that aspect of the sport affects athletes. Armstrong is a two-time Olympian for the United States and has won three medals between the Tokyo and Paris Games. He has also won 15 career medals at the World Championships, including gold in the 50 backstroke in 2023 and gold in the 100 backstroke in 2024.
