Ian Machado Garry condemned Jack Della Maddalena’s effort in losing the welterweight title to Islam Makhachev at UFC 322.
After expressing much confidence in his ability to top Makhachev (28-1 MMA, 17-1 UFC) on Saturday at Madison Square Garden, Della Maddalena (18-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) got shut out over five rounds and dropped a unanimous decision, with his belt going away with it.

Della Maddalena wasn’t able to stop a single takedown attempt or threaten Makhachev in any significant ways throughout the 25-minute affair, marking the end of the Aussie’s reign and snapping a 18-fight winning streak that dated back to May 2016.
Fellow 170-pound contender Machado Garry (16-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC), who faces Belal Muhammad (24-4 MMA, 15-4 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 265 co-event in Qatar, blasted Della Maddalena’ effort and the manner in which he lost gold (via Instagram):
There has been a little bit of history between Della Maddalena and Machado Garry, which likely prompted the contentious message from the Brit.

Machado Garry weighed in as the backup for Della Maddalena’s title victory over Muhammad at UFC 315 in May, and afterward Della Maddalena took a personal shot.
