Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood, still LIV Golf

Team Majesticks GC will have two Captains for the 2026 season.

As we know, Henrik Stenson, after suffering relegation at the end of the 2025 season, has decided to return to the DP World Tour, while retaining a stake in the team.

It was announced on Wednesday that his two (former) colleagues have signed with LIV for the 2026 season.

Lee Westwood and Ian James Poulter chose to play in the Saudi League from the start, making their debut in June 2022 at the Centurion Club, the first LIV Golf Invitational.

Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood, statements

Their statements are in agreement.

Let's start with Poulter:

"I've been part of Majesticks Club since day one and I'm excited to continue the journey as a player and as Captain."

"What we've accomplished here, both on and off the course, is special, with a clear long-term vision."

"LIV has changed the game of golf in exciting ways for both players and fans, and being part of that evolution has been incredible."

"Re-signing for 2026 was an easy decision for me. I'm more motivated than ever and can't wait to help lead the team into the 2026 season."

Lee Westwood, for his part, said: "It's fantastic to continue this journey with Majesticks GC."

"What we've accomplished together over the past five years has been incredibly rewarding, and the progression we've made as a team and as part of LIV Golf is nothing short of incredible."

"I'm committed to helping guide the 2026 journey and contributing in every way, both as a player and as a leader."

While we wait to find out whether Sam Horsfield will remain on the team, Henrik Stenson's place has been taken by Laurie Canter, who returns to LIV Golf after a year on the DP World Tour, where he earned a full membership for the 2026 PGA Tour season, which he withdrew, sparking reactions you can well imagine.

The LIV Golf season will kick off on February 4th in Riyadh.
