ICA decision-2025-01 – Hearing 16 07 25 – SRP Racing Shop – KZ European Championship

The following hearing of the International Court of Appeal took place on 16 July 2025 in Paris:

Hearing

Case ICA-2025-01: Appeal lodged by SRP Racing Shop (Formula K SRP Factory Team) against Decision No. 83 dated 17 May 2025 of the Stewards of the 2025 KZ European Championship event which took place in Valencia (Spain).

On 17 May 2025, during Qualifying Heat 1 of the 2025 KZ European Championship in Valencia, Driver No. 69, David Trefilov, was reported by Race Control for executing an unsafe manoeuvre against Driver No. 5, Giuseppe Palomba. The incident involved a second, abrupt change of direction on the start/finish straight, which forced Driver No. 5 partially off the track and resulted in minor contact.

Following a hearing with the Driver and the team representatives, the Stewards issued Decision No. 83 at 13:29. They concluded that Driver No. 69 had breached the Code of Driving Conduct and imposed a disqualification from the Qualifying Heat, along with a withdrawal of two points from his digital licence.

On 19 May 2025, the Appellant lodged an appeal against the Stewards’ Decision before the ICA.

Decision of the International Court of Appeal

The Court, after having heard the parties and examined their submissions, decided:

  • to declare the appeal admissible;
  • to uphold the Decision No. 83 dated 17 May 2025 of the Stewards of the event of Valencia counting towards the 2025 KZ European Championship.

The International Court of Appeal was presided over by Mr Mark KLETTER (Austria), and included Mr Laurent ANSELMI (Monaco), Mr Walter SOFRONOFF (Australia) and Mr Fernando VEIGA GOMES (Portugal).
